The Corporate Eye team all have deep knowledge in the online Corporate Communications world whether as writers, practitioners, consultants or suppliers.

Paul Nixon (CEO)

Paul has spent the last 8 years in the online Corporate Communications world. He previously spent 7 years at Investis as one of the founding directors, responsible for the delivery side of the business as well as running some of the largest accounts.

Prior to that he spent 14 long years at Accenture.

Lucy Nixon (Executive Editor)

Lucy set up and manages the Corporate Eye blog and heads our editorial team. She also developed our new approach to benchmarking corporate communications websites. Occasionally she finds time to write a post, too …

Her previous experience is benchmarking and thought leadership work on online corporate communications and running a small web development company. Before that, she spent 10 years at Accenture (nee Andersen Consulting).

Chris Milton (Responsibility writer)

A former CTO, Chris has a broad and varied background. He’s been involved with blue chips, consultancies & SMEs across a wide variety of sectors and has worked in Europe, the Middle East and Australia. In 2007 he decided to combine his knowledge of business and IT with his passion for all things sustainable and has been busy writing ever since. However, his greatest ambition remains to brew the perfect cup of coffee.

Cynthia Giles (Recruitment writer)

Cynthia Giles has followed a serpentine career path from academia to publishing to marketing and design to information technology and corporate communications. There’s plenty of detail about this journey at www.cynthiagiles.com, but briefly–the common theme has been ideas, and how to present them effectively. Along the way, she became an accidental expert on data warehousing and business intelligence, and for the past ten years she has combined corporate contracting with an independent consulting practice that focuses on marketing strategy for smaller businesses and non-profits.

Helen Baker (Accessibility and whole-site issues writer)

Helen provides a range of freelance web content services, with a focus on accessible, usable copy in plain English. She started out in technology PR for a global firm before moving on to the corporate communications team of FTSE 250 engineering company Balfour Beatty. She was responsible for www.balfourbeatty.com, when she was first introduced to the issues surrounding corporate websites.

In 2008, Helen moved from London to Spain, from where she works for a range of private and public sector clients across Europe. She has a first class engineering degree, which might not be the most obvious qualification for a copywriter. However, it has provided her with strong analytical skills and good technical understanding, as well as the ability to communicate complex issues clearly.
