Be specific<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Strong brands are focused brands.\u00a0 Define your brand promise in specific terms so it stands out from the broad and vague promises of other brands.\u00a0 Then make sure your brand lives up to those specific promises.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Be authoritative<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Define your brand promise and shout it confidently to the world.\u00a0 <em>Make<\/em> everyone else believe in your brand promise, too.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Be consistent<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Define your brand promise and how you want to communicate that message to consumers (i.e., your brand message and brand image) and don&#8217;t waiver.\u00a0 Conflicting messages confuse consumers causing them to turn away from your brand in search of one that makes them feel secure.\u00a0 Consistency is vital to brand building success.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Be honest<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Consumers are not naive, and they appreciate straightforward, transparent messaging.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t promise the world and not live up to those promises.\u00a0 Honesty trumps pie-in-the-sky claims any day of the week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. Be relentless<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Persistence will be rewarded.\u00a0 Get your brand messages out there and then get them out again and again.\u00a0 Consumers see and hear a myriad of messages
