--smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 157\/215;\" \/>If you rely on new data from a study by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.asicentral.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Advertising Specialty Institute<\/a> that was released this week, then you&#8217;ll shift much of your advertising budget into promotional items like bags, coffee cups and magnets.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to the study which surveyed 600 consumers (primarily businesspeople), promotional items are better at getting the attention of consumers and doing so at a lower cost-per-impression of just $0.004 on average vs. $0.33 for national magazine ads and $0.019 for prime time television ads.<\/p>\n<p>Following are some of the survey findings (via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brandweek.com\/bw\/content_display\/news-and-features\/promotion\/e3if0819d6addd2a0fe3b7a46b87f92137f\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brandweek<\/a>):<!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>84% recall the advertiser after receiving a promotional item<\/li>\n<li>42% report a favorable impression of the advertiser after receiving a promotional item<\/li>\n<li>24% are more likely to do business with the advertiser after receiving a promotional item<\/li>\n<li>62% have done business with an advertiser after receiving a promotional item<\/li>\n<li>81% keep promotional items that they consider to be useful<\/li>\n<li>75%+ keep promotional\u00a0items for over 7 months<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Clearly among this audience of businesspeople, promotional items boost recognition, recall, and business.\u00a0 Additionally, promotional items deliver a great ROI based on their longevity.<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s the best promotional item to invest in?\u00a0 Bags.\u00a0 According to the study:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bags deliver the most impressions &#8211;
