That is a fabulous report, thank you once again Ralph. I can almost feel a blog post coming on :)

Looking at CDP7 figures for a post coming out this morning I noticed that only 60% of institutional investors perceive climate change to be an issue for their portfolios.

Certainly, there is still a long way to go for the traditionally (and rightly) conservative financial institutions to interleave sustainability into their operations.

Good question regarding the effects on companies seeking to eligible for inclusion sustainable investment funds. I don't have an answer.

Sarasin published an interesting report on "Sustainability and share performance
– a long-running debate revisited ": http://krz.ch/847669 [direct link to pdf]

(Disclaimer: I do not have any relationship with Bank Sarasin nor special interest).

Thank you for highlighting Sarasin, Ralph. It's good to see banks embracing sustainability as a business value.

Some have introduced their own standard for investment & savings products (eg. Caisse d’Epargne, http://bit.ly/nKIBC).

I wonder whether this will effect the actions of those companies banks invest in or loan to. Does anyone know whether either Sarasin or Caisse d’Epargne have been courted by companies seeking to become part of their sustainable products?

I can't comment on U.K. banks, but some Swiss banks have sustainability written in their core values. A good example is Sarasin Bank (www.sarasin.ch) which issues an annual report on corporate social sustainability including measurements on ecological and social sustainablity and sustainable financial investments.
